Le 1er avril 2006, dans le cadre de la célébration de la neuvième fête de l'Internet au Togo, l'Association Togolaise des Utilisateurs de Logiciels Libres s'est associé au Village du Bénin à travers une série de formations autour de l'Internet.
Parmi les deux formations dispensées par deux jeunes volontaires de l'asso, il ya particulièrment Wikipedia.fr dispensé par Rolland Bokona qui retient ma préoccupation. En effet il s'agissait de démontrer aux apprenants de la langue de molière comment pénétrer le monde sensasionnel de Wikipedia.fr branche francophone de la célèbre Encyclopédie Libre et gratuite Wikipedia de la fondation Wikimedia.
D'après le petit compte rendu que Rolland a eu a me faire de son expérience avec les jeunes pour la plupart venant de Cape Coast au Ghana, les deux heures passées autour de Wikipedia.fr ont suscités un engouement remarquable de la part des jeunes.
Du coup ce petit succès m'inspire une petite initiative qui peut s'avérer prometteuse: l'Initiative Wikipedia en Francophonie. Cela consistera en une série d'actions de sensiblisation à une participation active au projet Wikipedia.fr.
Aujourd'hui le succès du projet encyclopédique de la fondation Wikimedia est incontestable. Wikipedia en francophonie sera l'occasion de dépasser le constant etat de consumérisme passif dans lequel nous nous confortons au Sud. C'est bien de voir un étudiant de la Faculté des Sciences consulté un article sur la vitesse du son fourni par Wikipedia.fr. Mais nous pouvons aller au delà...
